2021 Tequila Mezcal Challenge Competition Presented by Wine Country Network

November 13 to 14, 2021

The 3rd Annual Tequila Mezcal Challenge will take place in beautiful Denver, Colorado amidst the backdrop of the Rocky Mountains. When we launched the Tequila Mezcal Challenge, it was our goal to raise the bar for this rapidly evolving category…many new brands are launching on almost a weekly basis.

So unlike, older more famous competitions that clump products into just five or six groups, our competition committee has painstakingly created the first professional spirits competition dedicated to over 60 categories of Tequila, Mezcal and Agave spirits. Our judging teaming consists of some the world’s most seasoned tequila and mezcal experts. They understand and respect the details and time that goes into the entire process.

About the 2020 Competition

The 2020 Tequila Mezcal Challenge was held between October 16 to 26, 2020, virtually and safely at judges' homes across the US. Judges also participated in a zoom meeting to enable safe communications during the Pandemic. This competition is the first double-blind, professionally judged spirits competition dedicated to defining excellence in more than 60 categories of Tequila, Mezcal, and Agave spirits. The judges tasted/evaluated approximately 50 different products this year.

2020 entry volume was impacted by CoVid-19 closures and the sharp increase in consumer demand during these crazy times. Stay safe and healthy!
